PART 1
What is Explanation Text?
An explanation text is a text that describes an action or event.
The explanation(n) is a word from Latin, explanare, explanatio.
According to Vocabulary.com, An Explanation is a statement about how or why something is the way it is.
According to Oxford Languages, The definition of explanation is a statement or account that makes something clear, and a reason or justification given for action or belief.
Words that have the same meaning include clarification, elucidation, commentary, argument, explication.
What is the Structure of Explanation Text?
1. General Statement
In this general statement section, an explanatory text explains the general description of the natural phenomena/events that will be discussed. The point can be raised about the process of how these natural phenomena/events can occur.
2. Order of Cause and Effect
After knowing in general the phenomena to be discussed, this section explains the causes and consequences of these phenomena. You can do a description in several paragraphs regarding the cause and effect. This section is also known as a series of explanations.
3. Interpretation
Interpretation in the explanatory text can be regarded as drawing conclusions. You can provide feedback or statements regarding the phenomena raised in the text.
What is the Language of Explanation Text?
1. Focus on the generic, non-human participants.
2. Use scientific terms.
3. Use material verb,
4. Use conjunctions of time.
5. Use passive sentences.
6. Based on true or actual.
